The Disabled And Here collection is published under Creative Commons attribution licensing, which means you can use, share, and adapt the images for free with appropriate credit.
Illustrations should be attributed as “[ARTIST] for Disabled And Here” (artist will be listed on the image page) while photographs can simply credit Disabled And Here. When possible, please link back to the Disabled And Here project page.
Attributions ideally follow the image. For digital use, that might mean a social media caption / thread, website footer, or end credits section.
All photographed participants have signed a model release form and granted permission for image use in any media for all purposes under Creative Commons attribution, so long as that purpose is not pornographic or defamatory.
Organizations, foundations, and repeat adopters of our work are strongly encouraged to make a donation in solidarity. Disabled And Here was created to be an accessible, free resource, so even as the project has grown in collection size and recognition, Affect the Verb (the overarching BIPOC, queer, and disabled-led nonprofit) remains underresourced year to year.
We ask that you be thoughtful in how you put Disabled And Here’s images to use. Generally, we prefer identity-first language, as in “disabled person” rather than “person with a disability.”
